Do you know the requirements relevant to your products?

The products sold and distributed at fairs must also meet the safety and marking requirements set in the Finnish legislation. For example, toys meant for small children and child care articles such as pacifier holders must not break causing small pieces and thus a choking hazard. Also, they must not include long strings causing a strangulation hazard. Clothing intended for small children must not have drawstrings or functional bands around the head, at the area of the neck, and upper chest. The manufacturing of these kind of drawstrings or functional bands should not be instructed because the requirement involves also the manufacturing instructions of children’s clothing. In Finland the product details of toys and child care articles relevant to safety must be in Finnish and Swedish.

Fairytale character parade every day of the event at 10 am and 2 pm

The highly popular fairy-tale character parades will be organized again this year on all days of the Child Fair at 10:00 a.m. on the Kasvulava and at 2:00 p.m. on the Vekarat stage. If your booth has a mascot or a fairy tale character at the fair, why not bring him along to the fairy tale character parade as well!

The parade starts every day at 10:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. at the foot of the stairs leading to hall 6, in front of service door 6.12. The staff of the fair directs the parade and helps with the formation of the queue. The parade stops a few times to greet the children. It is recommended for the character to have an escort if it is difficult to move in the suit. If it is very difficult to walk in the costume, you can also join when the parade arrives on stage.

There is a dressing room for fairy tale characters for changing the character costume behind the Vekarat stage. The entrance is opposite service door 6.6. You can leave the character’s costume in the dressing room for the duration of the event weekend at your own risk. Behind the Vekarat stage is also the stage’s own dressing room, but we hope that the fairy tale characters don’t use that dressing room because there are a lot of children in the back of the stage and they can lose focus on their own performance if they see their favorite characters.

The entire parade takes a maximum of about 20 minutes. Your fairy-tale character can participate in the parade on all days or only on some fair days. You do not need to register for the parade separately.
